Manufacturing reshoring for an industrial products company
A global industrial products company is retiring an old manufacturing facility. In order to continue the production of a range of products from this facility, the company embarked on an integrated plan to ensure a seamless transition of the production to its facilities in a few countries in Asia.
We supported the design and implementation of a reshoring plan that include :
(i) Lifting the production capacity and capability of the destination plants;
(ii) Developed a suppliers base closer to the new production sites for parts and components supply;
(iii) Analysis of the entire supply chain for financial optimization;
(iv) Put in place a monitoring and tracking system to wind down production in the old plant with synchronization to the ramping up of the new locations.
The reshoring was executed in accordance to plan and timeline. The old plant was retired systematically without any major issue in production transition, new suppliers phasing in, and cost management.
