Market Entry for an Internet Startup
An Israeli technology start-up was expanding globally, but had run into difficulties entering the China market. Internally the company realized they needed a local team and expert guidance, to both evaluate the market and then to properly enter it if desired.
A team consisting of strategy, research, and technology consultants went to work understanding the technology of the Israeli startup and all the touchpoints it would have within China across consumers, businesses, and technology partners. Once the market was validated (including projections of both Chinese company interest in using their services globally and international interest in using their services in China) the team proceeded to make business and technical connections with the major Internet technology companies in China. They analyzed the API documents, translating as appropriate and coding integrations for the technology team in HQ to use. The team also helped establish their business operations, including staffing, and continued to be available as needed long-term.
The company is now fully integrated into the Chinese internet ecosystem, has won partnership awards from major Chinese platforms, and continues to use the expertise and code developed by our team to expand across more platforms, becoming the largest international company in their space in China.
